I finally knew why Giratina, Palkia or Heatran were given movesets like this now

I believe that it's because those movesets make them much more dangerous in pvp. Dragonbreath is a much more dangerous move than Dragon tail, and Draco Meteor or Fire Blast's long cooldown won't even matter here.

The only thing that sets Fire Blast and Overheat apart is fire blast's lower power and longer cooldown, the latter is offset by the pvp's altered move behavior. So while heatran is still a bit inferior than Moltres in terms of dps and ground resistances, the margin is pulled away by a noticable grip.

As for Giratina if you face one and you don't know how to properly shield its moves you are in big trouble, because its attacks get spammed often and are seldomly resisted.

Dialga and Palkia will literally start occupying masters league once they get released.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Questionable move distributions make a lot more sense in the wake of PvP. It's an exciting frontier.

Draco meteor doesnt have that long of a cooldown compared to outrage, infact its shorter than outrage, leading to in some instances DM being better.

But I agree, these moves are much more suited for PvP, and I think niantic did have that in mind when making them. Good on them for making previously 'useless' pokemon into powerhouses.

Giratina will probably get a lot better once people start buying the second charge move for it. So far every one I've faced had DC and Metagross absolutely demolished them. Shielding is pretty useless against it because it will spam DC a lot.

Giratina aleready rocks. Altaria dominates in great, giratina in ultimate and master (atm) and legacy dragonite (db/dc), more and more are dominating. So many teams are looking like DB dragon and metagross with the third slot the only suprise usually mewtwo with shadowball.
