How's your graveyard situation right now?

Ok, so a few things: a lot of new gyms recently popped up in my area and the fight over the control of them has been devastating on my Pokemon collection (Mystic doubles Valor & Instinct in size combined here and they like... play POGO for a living or something). I often don't have time or resources to revive and I end up using just whatever autoselect can grab from whatever has a sliver of health among my poor beasts. I even ended up using a full team of leftover ponyta today (which reminded me of how freaking cool Flame Charge looks). Everything I own is pretty much dead and since I haven't been wasting premium passes on Registeel I have pretty much no revives or potions on me ever. I don't remember having this issue back when we had more interesting legendaries so I blame it on me not raiding enough but maybe someone else is having trouble keeping their mons alive. Maybe health items have become a scarcity and I didn't know it because I am a dweeb. Do you also own a graveyard due to necessity rather than choice?

BTW, if you are in this situation as well I've found out that using high-level, unevolved, first-stage Pokemon to fight in gyms/raids and then evolving them after they faint is a great way to save a couple of revives every now and then by getting 2 for 1, especially with Registeel being so wimpy... but the savvy ones among you have probably already figured that out too!

EDIT: I am level 40 and have been for a while. I have over 60 maxed Pokemon I think and my collection is diverse enough to make 1 to 3 full teams for each type except fairy and bug. I know and apply all the usual stocking "tricks" and trends and it still isn't enough. Whatever it is that I am doing wrong or missing, it doesn't include gift opening, gym spinning or balls from raids. I DO think it may be due to low raiding numbers but I'd have to know it from another highly active player with a similar playstyle.
In any case, when both gen 2 and gen 3 where released, I remember everything I owned got auto-healed so I am crossing my fingers that this happens again with gen 4. Otherwise I will have to stop battling at all for a month just to get my top 30 back to regular health haha.

EDIT 2: Looping gyms/stops almost only nets me Pokeballs. I have 600+ ultra, 300+ greats and 10 red ones that I regularly to trash in hopes for a lucky health kit spin

I remeber that, but what level are you?

I hit that around level 20-25, now I have more healing items than I could ever need

Hmm, im instinct, and here instincts 8 compared to the 50+ people on both other teams, we save on items by team attacking, (coordinated using out team chat), and switching pokemon out before they faint to save on revives, that and the friend gifting gives so many healing items, try to add more friends to get more gifts

There might be something there cause Mystic is so dominant and abusing here that I feel like most players on both my team and the minority one have just stopped trying to fight back and I am usually solo when taking down gyms, at least for the first 8 battles on a full one.
I have more trouble finding potions than revives BTW, so I usually just fight with half-backed survivors, which makes it detrimental to NOT let my Pokemon faint in battle.

Grab more gifts and get potions and revives from them. Spin more gyms. Solo tier 3 or fight tier 4s like marowak or tyranitar.

Thing is... I only get healing items every 7 gifts opened on average and we only get to open 20 a day(?). I spin gyms about 20-60 times a day and they are all golden except for the aforementioned new ones.
I guess I could try using my free passes on soloable bosses but I still think I can get more stuff overall from doing tier 5's with the usual raiders while netting at least 13 balls every time even if I don't carry my weight due to having everything fainted and unavailable.
I am a heavyweight player in my area, and I'm not bragging about it, I just don't think it is normal for a midcore player of my size to never have anything alive for battling. This is not normal to me at least, and even though I have tried to hold back a little and refrain from bashing heads with all the P2W players over gym control, I can still only revive a couple Pokemon every hour or so. I feel like healing items were also nerfed a bit from research tasks but I could be wrong.

Use stronger Pokémon to fight. When they die, level them up. If they gain an HP through the power up, they automatically revive. Save and use all potions, even regular ones. I used to be like this, but with gifts and raiding, I have more max revives and potions than I can handle. I constantly throw away revives, and any potion that’s not max.

I had this issue right before gifts dropped (level 39 at the time) and my kids had it even harder. The ridiculous generosity of gifts at first solved the problem for us.

Alternatively, if there's a way to find a 5 minute loop you can walk/drive that maximizes stops/gyms to spin, I recommend doing that; I found one 5 minute loop of 11 stops/5 gyms repeated for half an hour was a good way to refill at least my team A and B. Camping somewhere you can reach multiple stops while you do something else can also work.

So just for reference, how many healing items are you and your kids getting on average per day (by reaching the upper limit of gifts opened)? Cause if that number is higher than 5 revives, 10 potions, and a couple max revives, then I am cursed and extremely unlucky. When they were freshly introduced, a single gift had the potential to drop me enough health items to revive and heal 6 Pokemon at time but after the nerf I've lived in a personal drought.

I get mostly hyper potions max revives and dust. I hardly ever get pinaps or balls lately. Out of the 35-40 items I get, the majority are hyper potions.

What graveyard? Lavender Town? /s

For raids, i only use my optimal counter with serious battle when i am short man it (solo, duo, trio, quad)
If i raid with a lot of trainer, i dont let my counter fainted, i switch counter before it faint, that way i am not using revives, only potion that i have more than revive

For Gym,i keep any wild pokemon at CP 1000 or more, evolution fodder like ivysaur, swalot, etc, bad iv raid boss, trade that dont go well, etc, and use it before i transfer it to the prof
I use that also to raid tier 1 or 2 when my free pass almost expired or in an EX eligible gym..
I am not experiencing difficulties for revive and potion for a long time, only poke bag give me a headache sometimes..

I find it a pain as well!

I'm not active on the gym system, I usually just place pokemon when I see space and only take down gyms when they're completely unmotivated, this purely to save on pots and revives.

Somehow potions (except the purple ones maybe) and revives are rarer than evolution items from pokestops for me and still somewhat rare from gym discs, but since gifts I have been getting a max revive or a max potion every other gift or so opened, which helps somewhat, but not a lot at all.

The best way i find is to just raid, big group t4/t5 raids are great if u can find them, but I can usually win t2 raids with only 2 pokemon and switching them out before fainting saves that revive ofcourse. Then after winning, it gives a lot of super pots and usually some revives as well. (because t2 is too low to get anything good actually...)

Add a bunch of friends.

I'm throwing out revives and potions because of all the gifts...

I have a ton of friends, more than I can regularly gift to. But gifts don't drop health kits to me anymore, I get a revive or an hyper pot every 4 gifts or so, and even then it's just one. The cap on daily opened gifts is so low that it just doesn't cut it for me

Instinct dominates here, yellow has a guy that plays two 40s (he recently got to 40) 100% of time fighting/catching/raiding/placing/berrying. Usually he is driving to 10+ gyms at 530am. Two lvl40 instinct spoofers that take inaccessible park gyms at 3am, then endless GRB. Then there is one legit instinct 50mil XP player. Maybe 3 high level, but normal playing players of my color and valor less than that...lot of supplies though.

I take Sprint gyms on the corner of two somewhat busy roads and 3+ hours later someone else from my color puts in. Greater chance another team takes it though. Regular gyms many times longer for another player to place in, I need more Blissey, I don't have the luxury to put anything else in. I need to take 7 to 8 gyms for 3 of them to stick.

I had a similar “graveyard” a few times already.

1: Way back in October 2016. Only 2 weeks after I started playing, I already started challenging high level blue gyms at level ~22.
My attackers then were only Eeveelutions and 2 Exeggutors. I already knew how to dodge by then, but I battled too many gyms and ran out of potions.
It ended a week later when I went to another town 15 km away, and the stops there were surprisingly generous with healing items.

2: Around a week after Gen 2, when I spent 2 hours prestiging against my own BS Snorlax (and ended up with an empty L8 skyscraper). This went on for 2 months, because I was battling gyms way more than catching/spinning stops back then.

3: Battling GRB defended gyms for hours way too many times in December 2017. And I just enjoy attacking GRB defended gyms (and still do),
This “graveyard” was by far the worst, taking 6 months to recover completely.

Now, I’m constantly at over 100 max pots and max revives each, and still can’t even use up all my normal pots/revives. But because of my several past severe potion droughts, I still refuse to throw away a single healing item, not even a purple potion.
Edit: Actually I don’t even play daily now thanks to regis (and lack of time). But I still open and send gifts daily. And when I do play and have the time, I often fight gyms for hours to farm badge points.

I wish I was in your situation. I throw most of my healing items to the trash but am constantly running low on balls because there are a lot of natural spawns around my house. At some point I was max reviving everything due to having almost 300 of them, now I've moved back to using normal revives and max potions and trashing everything else.

I was there before the end of June but judging by the general responses it just seems to be a personal drought. I just became hyper unlucky this past month, apparently...
