How long will heatran remain here?

Just wondering, do were have any idea when heatran's leaving, or was that not specified when it when heatran was announced?

Not that im getting tired of it, quite the contrary, i'd rather it stay longer because of how easy it is

I like Heatran raids too. I hope I like the next as much. Anyone hear rumors on what that might be?

People always complain about raids being too easy, but honestly it's great. Helps rural players like me not have to rely and wait for other folks to drive 10mins from where they are.

There use to be speculation, but given how random Niantic has been deciding on releasing Gen4 legends we literally cannot predict what new legend will replace Heatran.

theres only 7 reasonable options, leaving out arceus, manaphy and pheone
. Possibly shaymin, I could see it going either way, standard raid, EX raid or research.

Dialga, palkia, the lake trio, regigigas and darkrai. Even including Arceus there, we have a large pool of shared weaknesses, so while we may nit know the pokemon, we know we'll have the best coutners
Lake trio > the same teams we used to routinely beat down mewtwo, cresselia, deoxys
Dialga, regigigas (possibly arceus and darkrai) > machamp, and breloom will be king, haryama and Lucario as second fiddle, but not horrible (Lucario's steel type will actually help in most match ups)

and the odd one out, Palkia > the dragons.

Somewhat regardless of what we get next, we'll have the coutners for it, unlike with heatran where most didnt have a lot of ground types

Yeah, me and my raid buddies have most of the counters, the only one I can see being hard is Palkia since it may have Draco Meteor to kill our Dragon Attackers.

I really want either Shaymin Sky or Darkrai as our next raid bosses. They are mythical so people don't think they're likely but I really want Niantic to kill the idea that Mythicals can only be research breakthrough.

On a technicality, Deoxys is a mythical, and its an EX raid boss

Palkia seems the hardest, a close second would be dialga. Palkia because the dragons have to be wary of dragon tail because its a great fast move defensively, but with hydropump of fireblast, the dragons have little to fear. Dialga's harder for a rather different reason. While its fighting counters, machamp and breloom do well agaisnt most things fighting's weak to, thats becaue of 2 things, one is blissey, low attack makes its SE, nonstab moves not do much, and two tyranitar double weakness plus very weak defensive fast move bite is a bad combo for it, hence why iron tail sets are more difficult, ontop of both not being the bulkiest things out there. With dialga, all its moves hit for neutral damage and are strong against machamp, and breloom only resists thunder, historically, we've seen them struggle against powerful neutral STAB moves like BS and hyperbeam snorlax, they are still the best coutners to dialga, but wont have an easy time taking hits, dodging might be moreimportant if shortmanning

And now that we know that Latios and Groudon are monsters in PvP, there might be more interest in capturing some of them.

People still don't take PvP very seriously. So until PvP is regarded more favourably by the majority, pokemon that are only good in PvP, will still be considered a bad pokemon sadly.

Groudon will always be in demand though. Not sure where you got the idea that people aren't interested in catching him.

Not really. It was pretty hot the first couple of days where I live, only to die out shortly after. But I spent a ton of resources on several teams for all leagues and started challenging everyone all the time. After beating the absolute crap of everyone in my area, a lot of people started to push out for better teams of their own and challenging others more frequently just to build an anti-me meta cause everyone got pissy that no local had ever beaten me. Now people organize tournaments and I get challenges one after another and it has basically become a standard practice to challenge on another and it is great. What I am saying is you gotta do your part in getting your communities interested in PVP so that there's an internal incentive to have fun with one of the greatest additions this game has ever had.

Shaymin is a mythical with even 100 base stats in the main series. There's precedent of these kinds of mythicals to get released as a special research reward and we have had no mythicals in normal raids so far.

I've actually had a really hard time with Heatran. I work nights, so it's tough getting out when there's raids even out there. Today was my last chance, and I had no luck today, either. I'd love if it stuck around for a little while longer.
