How to fix Giratina

Nothing "drastic" like giving it Shadow Ball needs to be done. Just buff Shadow Sneak and make it a Dragon Claw clone and I will gladly power mine up.

You people are all such jokers.

Based on how Niantic operates Giratina will eventually get shadow force some day. It will be good.

Take the time to exploit a double candy event and get ready for it. And STFU & GTFO with all y'all complaints.

It's shiny form will also be released alongside it. It's just so obvious

Which app are you using to find the details of attack, defence. Can you please tell me? I have tried few, but didn't find one like this.

Although you may have a point, your tone is not the appropriate. The OP is not a bald complaint but a reasonable suggestion. There's a precedent in sky attack.

While you are accurate that my tone may be out of line there are too many people crying over this.

When you find yourself complaining about a game it's time to take a break. That goes for everyone out there, not the individual with this response.

Plus I might be missing something, but wouldn't the same candy be used for Giratina Origin Forme? The attack would be a bit better and it'll give them time to change some moves and add another feature or two. Get candy, get CTMs, get rare candy---seems enough getting with marginal giving needed

Best way to fix Giratina:

1) Go to the "Rayquaza" entry on the server.
2) Copy everything but the Name, Sprite, and Pokémon Number
3) Go to the Giratina entry on the server.
4) Paste all the Rayquaza information, leaving only the Name, Sprite and Pokémon Number.

BOOM! Giratina is fixed.

(5) For fun, leave all the Giratina Move Names and Type Names the same, but copy/paste in the stats for Arial Ace into Shadow Sneak, Air Slash for Shadow Claw, Dragon Tail for Dragon Breath and make Outrage only work when you've hit the halfway through the second Dragon Claw bar.)

Knowing Niantic, they'll expect us to do Giratina raids regardless of how useful it is just because it's new and a legendary. Then a year or so from now, they'll do a Giratina Day (like they did with the birds), where they put Origin/Altered form Giratina with Shadow Ball or whatever it's signature move is, in raids for 3hrs and tell us to go nuts.

Giratina is one of my top 3 favorites in Gen IV, so I would have loved for it to be good. But I don't see Niantic buffing it, at least not any time soon. I mean, we got 3 months of boring Regi raids (during summer months for a fair portion of the world, when people are more likely to want to venture outside and play), and it got to the point where finding people interested enough to do them was pretty difficult. People were more interested in soloing Tangela raids, and rightfully so. If that 3 month snoozefest for tier 5 raids taught me anything, it was that Niantic is ok with letting us trudge through periods of time with boring raid bosses.

Poor Giratina. It deserves better.

Last Winter (northern hemisphere) we had Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Summer gave us the Regis. Maybe Niantic wants to give us more incentive to get out and raid when the weather is nasty than when it's nice. Think about it - switch the two - most people would have done about the same number of Kyogres in July as January, but probably way fewer Regis in January instead of July.

We get what we get when we get it. That's the way the game works. And not every raid boss can be the very best.

We still don't know how signature moves will be implemented. Someday, Kyogre will get Origin Pulse, and every pokemon weak to water will tremble a bit. But how will it go out? Surely Niantic doesn't want everyone to take their army of very high IV maxed out Kyogres and TM them to Origin Pulse. There's got to be some other way.

We saw limits on acquisition with EX raids on Mewtwo. We've seen time limits (and attack buffing) with CDs, like Metagross going from deeply disappointing to very meta relevant with a move (albeit only for 4 hours, and if you missed it, well, bummer, trade for some). But we don't know what that mechanism will be for legendaries - maybe raid days, maybe a customized type of TM we get in a quest, maybe a special item, who knows. I suspect Giratina will get it's day - could even happen if Origin Forme comes out for the last half of the raid month. We'll see.

That first paragraph is my theory as well. I braved the cold repeatedly for the weather trio, can't say I would have done the same for the Regis. Even for Suicune I only bothered with 4 raids and 3 of them were only because I had friends that still needed to catch one.

Buffing the moves in question would be a better, more universal fix than just changing Giratina's moves. Ghost and ground attacks need more love. Bumping Shadow Sneak's base power to 70 would up its DPS*DPE to ~51.2, bridging some of the disparity between Shadow Ball and Ominous Wind, the 2nd best ghost charge move. It would effectively be a ghost type Crunch with a slightly shorter cooldown in exchange for a longer damage window.

All Ghost moves except Shadow Ball need to be revisited. They are ALL awful.
