Like an easier Regirock. Being your Machamp.

Pokebattler suggests Ground. Top counters there (Time to win, single) are:

Groudon MS/EQ
Rhyperior MS/EQ
Rhydon MS/EQ
Swampert MS/EQ
Rhyperior MS/Surf
Flygon MS/EQ
Golem MS/EQ
Machamp C/DP

Yes, Groudon and Rhyperior will be Supreme. Machamp is good though, and many trainers already have 4-6 powered up.

Exactly so. some of these are substantially less obtainable and some of these are substantially more niche.

That said, the best gymming party isn't necessarily 6 level 40 Machamps now.

Smack Down Ttar party when iron head isnt the charge move.

Edit: dont use rock haha. Sorry if i caused any confusion

Oh yes you are correct. I was think rock instead of ground.

Nobody is talking about Groudon, which resists Stone Edge and deals double SE damage to Heatran with a double Ground set. It will be the king of Heatran battles.

Kyogre resists Fire Spin, Iron Head, and Fire Blast, while Machamp resists Bug Bite and Stone Edge.

It's pretty obvious that Groudon is the king, but you don't really need it. Just doesn't seem worth the RC investment to me if you can plausibly duo it with a best friend and level 30 Rhydons.

Not that Groudon doesn't have other merits, it's a beast in master's league for example. But if you already have one, I don't see much point in powering up a second one just for this boss.

Why on earth did they even bother putting the Lake Trio on the winter announcement? Not that I'm complaining at all, it just seems silly now.

Swampert looks really promising. Resist all but Bug Bite( which barelyy do dmg in defence) and has 2 SE Charges and cheap unlock secondary charge moves, so in Rain Surf probably be better Than EQ.

I think that EQ, while doing double supereffective damage (x2.56 multiplier), will be better than the 1.2 multiplier surf wil get from the weather.

Wish they'd release Mamoswine!

Me too, that effectiveness change was a huge deal. Almost considering maxing Dugtrio and Flygon just for the fun of actually using them and have them be effective.

Neither Groudon shiny nor Precipice Blades have been released. Heatran isn't the best fire type. (Which I wanted to raid for).

Should I power up a second groudon, when I can duo Hetran without further investment apart from evolving my Rhydons?

Heatran is clearly built for pvp only, where it is significantly superior among all grounded fire types because fire blast has no cooldown in there.
