Gym Control Bonus...Is it working?

I have been to 3 Suicune so far, and on the first I had a defender in the gym, and every Valor player got Gym Control Bonus.
On the second, Valor held the gym but I didn't have a defender, and everyone got the bonus again.
On the third, it was Instinct (yes...we all laughed) and the 2 Instinct players both got gym control bonus balls without having a defender in the gym.

Has anyone else noticed it working the way we all always expected it to work?

Have you heard of the glitch where another team takes over a gym but its color doesn't change accordingly? This could be why you didn't get any extra balls for gym control on your second raid.

I did get the bonus on the 2nd. Every Valor player did, as the gym was held by Valor.
I got the gym control bonus on any Valor held gym, regardless of whether I had a defender or not.

...and it was the same for everyone else in the group.

it worked on my lunch time raid. but it has worked occasionally over the last few weeks anyway. we'll see if it holds up.

Seems like it is working already, except for my T-rex raid yesterday - Valor held the gym but no bonus. But today, everything seems fine - no need to have a pokemon in the gym just the same color.
