GamePress

"GPS not found" issue

In the last few days, I haven't been able to play PoGo from inside my house because the GPS doesn't seem to work - something which had never happened before. It only rarely gets better if I place the phone by a window, but it's never a problem while I'm outside.

Anyone with ideas on why this happened all of a sudden, and suggestions on how to solve it? I would greatly appreciate it. I have 5 spawn points around my house, so it's quite important for me!

hard to say byt maybe some new device of yours or your neighbour or some country is checking your house with electromagnetic field;p or its karma for having too much luck with spawn points;) anyway hope it will get back so you can play

When I run into the issue, I'm on cellular data. Then I turn on wifi. Then the GPS issue immediately goes away. I can immediately turn off wifi and it still works. Doesn't need to even connect to the wifi.

Nope, I'm always on wi-fi while at home and the issue's still there.

Get a GPs status tool from play store to see if you are not getting signal inside or you are getting interference from Wi-Fi or blue devices around you. Get a GPs location locker while you are at it. Check location settings, make sure it is set for high accuracy, unless interference is the the issue if so use device only setting. Go into App settings ,then show system apps, and find LocationServices and clear the cache. Hope some of this helps you out.

Thank you! I'll try and check my GPS signal with an app, to start off.

tick the option inside location settings which says ''look for wifi always even when wifi is off' or something like that, should be under the tree dots inside location settings, ther eis another option to ''look for bluetooth even when off'' but that isnt needed

that will solve it

I have had the same problem and have 3 solutions:

  1. Wave your phones around in the air in a figure of 8 to get a better gps signal resolution. Works sometimes.
  2. Change to Google Map or Apple Map and tap on the relevant icon to such that this App gets the gps location. Then switch back to PoGo. Works sometimes.
  3. Switch on wi-fi. Works nearly always, but you need to remember to switch off the wi-fi before you leave the house as this drains the battery quicker (which can be a real problem with the fast battery discharge of PoGo).

Hope this helps.
