Gifts to best friends: no need, right?

I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Once I reach Best Friends status with people, there is nothing to be gained by continuing to send them gifts, right? I assume I should prioritize all my other friends first?

I hit best with one today, 3 more tomorrow. I'm of the same thinking as you, seems just the 200xp for sending something out.

That's my plan. I'm hitting best friend level with several over the next few days, and we'll all be glad that we don't have to stress over gift giving/opening if we happen to not be able to raid together.

Never really thought of spinning a gym or a poke stop and getting a gift and then sending that gift out as stressful

It can be, if you're trying to send something to every friend every day, in order to remain high on their list, and thus a priority for them.

I guess it’s the thought that counts?

I look for cool stops and camp out to get gifts from there. And try to match the gifts to the person. Lol

Imagine if your friendship level went down if you stopped sending them gifts.

That would be stressful.

But these Best Friends are typically also the people that regularly send gifts to you. Which gives you items and stardust.

I presume they will shift their gifting to other people as well. I've already discussed this with my first Best Friend, and we're in agreement that it makes sense to move each other to the bottom of our priority list.

This all vaires from player to player. If you only have a small list of friends and want to keep it that way then it makes no sense to just stop sending them gifts once you hit cap. Also some people might want to keep sending items (eg stardust, eggs etc) to help other players long after best friend status. So it's really down to the individual.

I had hoped that they would add things like rare candy and TMs and GRB and SPB as a possibility once you hit best friends status just to keep us interested in sharing gifts.

Awesome idea but not one they'll have thought of no doubt. Mind you they are up for changing the gifts up, we get more dust now than ever so we live in hope. RC's & TM's would certainly catch the interest of most players

And I mean it could be a high level of rarity to find, but it would just keep us interested in exchanging gifts with our best friends once we get to that point.

I don't give a fuck about xp so i will keep gifting as soon as they do not abondon me.

I don't care about XP either. My only issue is that, with around 40 friends, I can only open gifts from 25, or whatever the limit is, and I can only send as many as I can collect and send in a day. I don't always have 40 gifts to send out, so I have to prioritize.

Obviously, if I have more than enough gifts to send to everybody, I will, but even then, I'd expect Best Friends to open gifts from other people first, due to the limit on how many you can open in a day. I know some of my Best and soon-to-be Best Friends have a lot more PoGo friends than I do, and so, given the hard limit on opening gifts, and the practical limit on sending gifts, I'm totally fine with them servicing other friends instead of me once we've achieved Best Friends status.
