so, assuming we see Gen 3 ghosts next week, are any of them going to be worth really going after? It doesn't look like it to me. But hey... seeing a silhouette on the screen will be good. So I'll certainly get some.

So we have the slightly worse Misdreavus (Sableye)

The slightly bulkier Haunter (Banette)

Even worse attacking Umbreon (Dusclops)

A Worse unown (shuppet)

I couldn't even find anything pathetic enough to compare to Duskull.

But let's wait for the movesets before we pass judgement ;)

It's unfair to judge Shuppet and Duskull since they are the pre-evolved forms of Banette and Dusclops respectively, but neither of the grown-up forms are anything to really write home about.

Shedinja will be a funny Pokemon to use if it gets Wonder Guard

Not really the best ghosts to choose from, but I'd like a Shuppet because they look cute. But would evolve it into a Banette. No idea what moves it would get but if only Niantic added abilities, it would make more pokemon useful. Shedinja for example...

With the battle existing as is (tap-and-swipe, pokemon's value being based on moves from a limited pool along with a poor reflection of main series -> Go stats), they will not thrive.

However, it is worth noting that if a battle system were to change:
- Bannette and Sableye both get mega evolutions (introduced in gen 6). In the main series, Sableye's is very useful. I used to run it on one of my teams (it's ability, magic bounce, was unbelievably useful in the main series, but seeing as that abilities are not a 'thing' in Go...)
- Dusclops evolves to dusknoir, but again since pokemon go favors pokemon with high stamina, dusknoir probably will not do much better.
