Place it in a gym so that people can see a pretty Pokémon, and also get the opportunity to use their metagross

Machamp and Hitmons Solos, countering gym Dragonites.

A jack of many trades, but a master of none. Good gym defender, bulky gym attacker into dragons and fighters, good for soloing Machamp, can also anchor dragon raid teams (when wiping out could crash your device or let the boss regain health).

Aside from gym defense, it's not a high-priority attacker, but it is a good counter to fighting-type raids and a high TDO option against dragon bosses with dragon moves. Also fun for slaying dragons in gyms.

One of the best choices for solo Machamps with fighting sets, especially in cloudy weather (since its fairy attack gets boosted). I got two I use for this purpose. Dynamic Punch sets in cloudy weather can get nasty otherwise.

Yup. Gardevoir is one of my key contributors to 6-unique, non-legendary Machamp solo challenges, especially since cloudy weather is unfortunately very common where I live and this is the only one of my counters that benefits from that.

If you want to go for something even more challenging, Gardevoir can actually carry a unique 6 team very far. I did a non-boosted U6 fairy charge moves only and Gardevoir was the only member of the team with TTW below 180s.

Yeah, Machamp is a fascinating mon for this kind of challenges. The only problem I have is that I'm reluctant to use stardust on anything that's outside of normal meta, because I'm not exactly swimming in it. Even Gardevoir, I only powered it up to L33.5 for just the right TTW with its IV. The rest of my 6U-NL team are mons that are still useful for gym defense or other things (C/Ps Eggy, ZH/Ps Metagross from before CD, Hurricane Dnite, etc).

I sadly started to move away from T3 solo to T4 duo challenges, because the best friends bonuses are just too good. I do this only during weekends, as during weekdays I just do T5 with my raid group.

Understandable. There are of course some challenges that don't require high level pokemon, like L20 U6 against Granbull or Piloswine. For added difficulty against Granbull, go non-WB without Metagross and against Crunch or PR.

On defense, shove it between any two of the normal type tanks and hope whoever's attacking isn't just plowing through with a MM Metagross.

On offense, it's a go-to choice for fighting type raids and a high TDO option against dragon type raids should you wish to avoid re-entry. Just keep it away from Machamp that know Heavy Slam.

It's kind of a net win anyway if they plow through with Metagross since it's that much slower against Blissey and Chansey. I'm not sure if Metagross can even kick out a Blissey through 10 GRB.

I'm finding Confusion/Dazzling Gleam Gardevoir's to be very useful against Giratina, when Giratina has a double-dragon moveset.

Beyond that? Not much right now.
