GamePress

Gamepress first 50

Gamepress made a suggestion/guess about the first 50 pokemon which could be introduced. This includes the three starters, Salamence, Aggron, Slaking and Gardevoir. Plus Groundon based on the Trailer. Apart from the other legendaries that pretty much all gen3 mons who should be relevant apart from Metagross. That to me sounds a little to optimistic. What do you think?

In particular, I think having Groudon released in the winter is extremely unlikely, since they're trying to push the weather thing. My money is on a spring release of Kyogre, and summer release of Groudon, if anything.

But about Slaking--who else is pumped for another fat normal type in every gym? At least his bulk is more like Snorlax than Blissey... And I'm hoping they balance his crazy attack with Slack Off sufficiently.

Edit: and about the other good 'meta' pokemon, I'm also surprised that they might give out so many. But notably, Metagross is the only one that'll really shake things up (no double weaknesses, super high CP) and they'll probably hold him back for a while--they wouldn't want the snow bonus to make him too common and flood the market with high-IV ones.

1: The Beldum family has one of the lowest catch rates of all Pokemon. Much lower than Mewtwo in fact. This should balance things out.
2: It doesn't snow everywhere in the world.

...but it is Summer now, and I have never seen snow in my life.

Really?
Did you know that 89% of statistics found in comments sections are made up on the spot.

I think you underestimate the population that live in the tropics, and have neither Winter nor Summer.

I think the 90% statistic comes from this: http://www.businessinsider.com/90-of-people-live-in-the-northern-hemisphere-2012-5.

But you're right, a large percentage (40%) live in the tropics and don't really experience winter. http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2014/06/expanding-tropics-will-play-greater-global-role-report-predicts
