Finally! Got my Mewtwo
After the disappointment of the stolen ("cancelled") Christmas day EX raid I had petty much given up on Mewtwo and didn't try (too hard) to raid at known EX raid gyms. And then I got an EX raid pass for a gym in a fairly remore state park I had never raided at. I thought, no way would anyone else show up for this.
But to my surprise my son and a friend from my local Discord got one as well! As did a few people on the city Discord. So now the remaining problem was that I had to work today (Saturday). And then I got another EX raid pass, for Starbucks on 2/17. I couldn't believe it!
Long story short(er), my family did today's raid for me and my daughter, who had my phone, was one of the few who caught him!
Although his IV's aren't great (75% with an 11 attack stat), no Mewtwo will ever be more treasured. And who knows what will happen at Starbucks!
P.S. I have since TM'd him to C/SB.

Congratulations. C/SB hits like a cannon, although they sadly took away a couple of his best uses -- Alakazam and Gengar raids.
I wonder if they lowered the catch rate when they increased the number of EX passes, because at the two EX raids I did, along with all the other ones I've heard about, almost everyone caught the Mewtwo.
I've gotten two Mewtwos, the last one being in early December, and they are 67% and 80%. I'm okay with that, and I'm not in any hurry to get more. I guess it would be nice to have one with each charge move, but I don't need or want 20 Mewtwos, and I'm not going to go out of my way to try to increase my odds of getting another pass. I wish they'd figure out a way to give more people the opportunity to catch Mewtwo, without allowing people to manipulate the system to get dozens of them. It's only a matter of time before we start seeing a bunch of posts asking "is it worth powering up my 91% Mewtwo that only has a 13 attack IV?"

...and...
Shadow Ball is Mewtwo’s best option for raids and neutral DPS.
Focus Blast is ideal for gyms and all those Blissey and Snorlax.
Psychic slightly wins out in specialist matchups, but is usually sub-optimal.

This is an oversimplification, but here goes: Psychic and shadow ball are both 100 damage moves. Psychic gets STAB, so the 100 becomes 120, but SB does its 100 damage for half the energy cost, meaning it can be launched (almost) twice as often. SB will do as well or better than psychic against some of Mewtwo's main targets (e.g. Machamp and Gengar), and has the added benefit of being strong against psychic mons (e.g. Alakazam, or even Mewtwo himself). The one drawback to SB is that it is very underwhelming against normal types (e.g. Blissey and Snorlax), so it still lags behind DT/O Dragonite as a true generalist, IMO.
The Gamepress page AsP cited is a good reference. My only disagreements with the Gamepress analysis are that I think psychic is very much a viable charge move where a pure psychic type is called for, and hyper beam isn't as bad as they imply. In fact, I'd say HB is the only true generalist charge move available to Mewtwo, although I'd still rather use a DT/O Dragonite.
