Favorite Attacker?

What's your favorite attacking Pokemon you own?

It could be for sentimental reasons i.e. first good attacker or highest win count, for type effectiveness, for high stats, good moves, legacy set, IVs, good dodge/weaving, potion-efficiency, or just being a cool 'mon. What do ya got?

I'll get the ball rolling. Lugia with DT/SA has been my favorite attacker since Legendary Raids came out. It isn't the best in terms of DPS, but has great coverage, good dodging (especially with Sky Attack), lots of good resistances, and beats down Dragonites to boot! Best of all, it's very potion efficient and very hard to faint.

Other favorites of mine have been Machamp (my first gym sweeper), Espeon (first Pokemon I was able to beat Blissey with), and Gardevoir, though its at a low level (great typing, good 2-bar, good coverage, and potion-efficient).

If I have to pick one, I'll have to go with my 100% Dragonite with DB/O. I caught it as a wild Dragonair in my second month of playing, have walked it over 770km, and have used it in well over 2k gym battles. It originally evolved with Hyperbeam.

To list my top five, the other four of my favorites I use every day:
Raikou 91% TS/WC
Mewtwo 82% C/FB
Machamp 100% C/DP
Lugia 91% E/SA

All of them are maxed at 40.

I love using my raikou. I only got one(88.9%,14,14,12) and I wish I got more. I only leveled it up to 26.5 and I’ve faced blisseys(others too like dragonite) that have been level 35+ and raikou’s been able to handle them relatively well. Overall, he’s been a Pokemon I’ve really enjoyed using.

That's a really good Raikou though. I did a ton (at least 40) and got pretty bad luck with the IVs - only one was 15 attack!

My favorites are machamp because he can sweep gyms and I never had him in the original games
Raikou because he is one of my favorite legendaries and has fast attacks
my first ever dragonite (80% 15A) because it had a lot of wins and it’s my first
Kingdra because dragon breathe is awesome and I like him
Lugia because he’s another favorite and can tank gyms

Dragonite with DT/O because I didn't have him until 2 months ago and I really didn't get just how good he is until I evoled him and started hammering. He is only an 89 IV but with attack at 15 but wow he wrecks.

DB/DC Dragonite. It's only 77%, ADS 10/15/10, but I still like using her, especially in the 3rd round of gym sweeping.

Haven't used it much as an attacker since dragons were everywhere but I have a double legacy IS/IB 100% lapras.

My favourite now are lvl35 Gardevoir & lvl35 Raikou (15/12/12, 87%) but Gardevoir is not very useful unless the gym has Dragonite and Hariyama/Machamp.

Now I'm getting sick of using Machamp but since it's the fastest pokemon to take down Blissey, Snorlax, Lapras, Tyranitar, Chansey, what choice do I have?? Still haven't found a good Torchic.

For sweeping, I'd go for Dragonite. It's ok but it feels so slow. It's definitely faster than other pokemons in taking down gyms but the animation makes it feel like it's slow.

If I had Mewtwo, it'd easily be my favorite and most-used attacker, but I don't. But, I have four attackers I have a ton of fun using in gyms and raids. Two of them are my 100% Lugia (literally tanks gym battles and raids single-handedly like no other, an absolute monster in its role as an anchor, and is just so much fun to use) and my 95% Dragonite (one of my day 1 homies with over 7,000 gym victories and one of my most cherished Pokémon in my collection). These two will always be in my attacking lineup.

Another two of my favorites are my 100% Charizard (first ever perfect Pokémon whom I thoroughly enjoy using in gym battles, and helped me slay Dragonites back in the old gym system), and my 98% Gengar (has the infamous legacy Shadow Claw, and is used to sweep gyms if I'm not using my main attackers).

It wasn't an easy catch. So far, it's my only perfect legendary, and has been a huge asset to my attacking team! :)

I have a 98% Lugia that I have not done anything with. Apparently you all love yours. Mine has extrasensory/future sight. Do you all like sky attack better?

I prefer Sky Attack. It's a fantastically fast move and Flying is a rare type. In fact, its DPS is slightly better than Wild Charge and Dynamic Punch, often regarded the best Charged Moves. Futuresight is formidable for the type synergy, but its only real merit is for hitting types that resist flying, like rock (but why would you use Lugia on a rock), and for poison types, which aren't really a huge concern. I guess that'd be for Gengar, but Tyranitar already covers the non-DPS options for Gengar raids.

I've actually never tried Sky Attack for Lugia, considering that it already knew Futuresight when I caught it. But, based on what WaterYouWading4 said, I think it's certainly worth experimenting with. You should definitely power up your 98% Lugia! It tanks gyms and raids like no other!

Mewtwo, Articuno and Gengar ... Blastoise because is one of my favourite pokemon also and Machamp because is so useful on gyms

I really can't wait to power up my Articuno. It'll be like a lesser Ice-type Lugia but with a more defined niche.

My absolute favorite is my Dragonite.

When the game was first announced, it immediately brought back the thoughts of when I was a kid imagining running through fields and forests catching rare pokemon. I immediately linked this thought with a forest preserve that I walk through about once a week.

Fast forward to September after the release, and I am walking through my park, sorely disappointed. At Walmart I could catch 20-40 mons per visit easily, but in a beautiful park I'd caught MAYBE 5 mons the entire day (one of which was a Gastly that would later turn out to be a 93% Shadow Claw Gengar during the Holloween event!). Then I saw a shadow on my heads up (ah, the days when the tracker worked...) and knew what it was instantly; a Dratini. I walked in circles for about 10 mins praying that it wouldnt despawn, until at last I found it on the shore of a lake. Caught it with my first ball and checked the stats....

...my first 100%.

He took about 9 months to get to a Dragonite, and is now sitting at 36.5 (max lvl for me atm) with DT/O. He's my best attacker, has ONLY defended once, and has over 600km buddy distance.

He's sentimental as he pretty much let me live out a childhood dream, he's GREAT in just about any fight, and he finally gave me a reason to like Dragonite in general (always thought it looked so stupid).
