Extreme Weather?

About half the time the weather system has been in effect has been spent in extreme. Does anybody know the requirements for this condition? Seems to be any time it's below freezing and it's not snowing or cloudy

I don't think the temperate is the issue. I live in Canada so it's always below freezing and the weather thing works fine for me.

I'm also in Canada (Ottawa) and it's been Extreme Weather half the time this weekend. And we've had maybe -5C as the low, 2-4cm of snow, no real wind, just a really normal December weekend.

The other half of the time we've had Cloudy, Snowy or Partly Cloudy, and it changes really close to when the weather changes. Like within minutes of the sun peeking out, we're Partly Cloudy, and within minutes of the snow starting to fall, we're at Snowing. It's... actually kind of impressive how responsive it's been.

I get that it is nighttime now, but earlier did they have raids?

Figured so, wonder if the raid boss would get a weather buff or if it would stay the way it had been--might just be a (cold) gray area how the spawned Boss reacts

There has been a wildfire at the edge of the county and ive gotten extreme weather every time ive logged in

I'm thinking it may have something to do with Severe Weather alerts issued by the US Weather service. I'm seeing extreme here now too and we have a black ice warning again tonight.

Any local weather advisory of any kind to any degree triggers "extreme" weather.

And how does it actually affect the spawns?

It’s been windy here and I get the extreme notice everyday. What would pop up more or with higher cp or iv when it’s windy?

How do you relate weather to less obvious mons. Like what makes a machop spawn more or better?

From what i gathered from the extreme weather notice when i log in is that it negates any weather bonus, hence the phrase "pokemon seem to dislike these conditions"
Hopefully the winds will die down a bit so i can see the new spawns

"Extreme" weather kills all weather boosts to spawns and battle.
