Dragonite with Hurricane

There was a time when I truly coveted a Hurricane Dragonite to solo Machamp. I got one, and it made my life so much better against Machamp.

Fast forward to the present. I have a maxed Espeon (and over at 35), a maxed Alakazam (and one at 36), I have a level 35 Moltres that I like to use against steel moves (mostly for variety), I have a Mewtwo, plus other psychics around level 30. I find myself rarely using my precious Hurricane Dragonite any more. Should I try to tm him to outrage (I currently only have 2 other Dragonite, one with outrage and one with DM) or would you keep it at is? I'd like to be able to solo Jolteon on a windy day if possible and Hurricane just won't cut it.

I have the exact same dilemma. On one hand, hurricane might become legacy, on the other hand, it is really useless. Dragonite might get a flying type fast move, on the other hand, flying sucks. I think I am going to tm it to outrage as soon as the lati twins arrive. It will be a top counter which I can enjoy for 2 whole months. Now that we have lugia, I don't use outrage dragonite either...

No. I think having one of each is the way to go. For Dragons-> look to Salamence and Rayquaza. Double Earth Groudon will also be good in your windy Jolteon attempt (though not weather boosted).

Hurricane is good but dragonite preferred move is still dragon moves.

I get your point, but the one thing I don't understand is all the hype for Espeon and Alakazam...one in the first slot is ok, but after that I will always take a Hurricane Dragonite over another glass canon which costs a lot of survives and are pretty rare at the moment. I used to use mine a lot and I still use one if I somehow end up doing a machamp solo. If you need a Dragon and you have the loss of a flying Dragon covered then go for it and TM but before I would ever put dust into multiple Alakazam or Espeon I would power up the Dragon regardless of moveset especially if you have a Mewto. I don't have one yet and Machamp goes down with Lugia, Ho-oh and Dragonite.

I'm with you on this one. I like Alakazam (PC/FS) int eh first slot and usually run one other Zam or Epseon. But my Machamp team benefits most from tanks. Level 33 C/DG Gardevoir, Level 33 E/Ps Exeggutor, and then two DT/H Dragonites (Lvls 30 and 27).

And I've taken him down in Cloudy weather.

I changed mine and I’d do it again. I now have 4 DT/OR 40, 36, 34.5, 32 and three DT/DM 31, 31, 30. A Salamence at 32 DT/DM. A Rayquaza DT/OR at 30.

i had 5 good dragonites
100 dt/hu
95 dt/o
95 dt/o
93 dt/hu
75 db/dc

I Tm'd the 100% but left the 93% reasons
1. rayquaza is a superior flying dragon attacker if i need one
2. I rarely do machamp raids now anyway (have a full team and can duo ttar)
3. left 93% just in case made legacy and many alternative dragons due out in future.

H is not only useful when you face Machamp. It is useful when you facing grass and bug too. It is a fast and quite powerful move and you already have O and DM Dnite so I think you should keep it.
