Disturbing Trends

Does anyone notice that (nearly) every new pokemon is made WORTHLESS in a CHILLING accuracy thanks to the movesets deliberately made crap?

First Gen 3, then Gen 4, then Melmetal. If they have those gargantuan stats and actually had moves they could shine, but instead they were given shit like psychic, flash cannon and shadow sneak.

Some say it was for a community day but in most cases it doesn't seem to be the situation.

If this continues it's best advised to fill the box with machamps, tyranitars and exclusive move mons and transfer all new dex entries if possible (Ignoring new Raid bosses are also advisable), because (nearly) any new or non-exclusive pokemon if applicable have close to no combat value and any investment may be rendered obsolete in an instant.

Nothing that Niantic had done were right for the past around 5 or 6 months and it shows.

Mamoswine laughs at you.

Mamoswine lucked out and was fortunalty given it's best moveset. But this is cherry picking. Plenty of other mons got shafted with poor moveset and little to no explanation why.

Tangrowth for example. Why wasn't it given Power Whip? Legacy moves be damned, just look at this vine monster. No excuse for not giving it Power Whip other than to specially make it bad.

I don't like it when people constantly shit on Niantic, but at the same time I feel like it's deserved due to their history with game mistakes, bugs, poor decisions like exclusive moves, as well as this fiasco with poor movesets. Honestly, it's just a 50/50 with me and my opinions on them

I agree it is a pisstake. Was looking forward to my shiny Dusknoir getting a variety of coverage moves but oh no, absolutely shat on lol.

My maxed Rhyperior is pretty good with SD/SE, Roserade has a very nice grass & poison set, Electivire with Wild Charge? There are others, stop moaning for gods sake.

"...and any investment may be rendered obsolete in an instant."

From your logic, this holds true for anything you've ever invested in. Why play the game from a standpoint/approach where you're always going to dread committing time and resources into catching and pumping up your Pokémon?

The real disturbing trend is how volatile members of the PoGo community can be to any decision made by Niantic.

Mr-ex777,

Yes, it's horrible. The weather trio is good everything else is crap. If you have Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre, you should quit the game, nothing else will ever compete. So go ahead and quit.

Roserade, Electivire, and Weavile, beg to differ. Once released, Magnezone, Mamoswine, Rampardos, and Garchomp will as well. That's seven Pokemon from this generation alone that will either be serious contenders or best-in-type and none of them are legendary. So your argument is already moot unless you were actually expecting Mons like Honchkrow and Dusknoir to be good.

In terms of tier 5 raid bosses, Palkia and Dialga will be just fine in terms of power level, and while it won't be topping any DPS charts, Heatran will have the highest TDO of any fire attacker by a long shot. Azelf will be a top-tier Psychic attacker behind Mewtwo. When we eventually get them (maybe as future EX raid bosses), Arceus and Darkrai will be forces to be reckoned with.

Yes, Giratina is hot garbage, as is our current EX boss, Deoxys. Several others got less-than-impressive movepools (Staraptor, Magmortar, Tangrowth, Mismagius, etc). However, just because some Mons got inferior moves when you'd hoped they would be powerhouses doesn't mean the entire generation is garbage.

what
pretty much 90% of the pokemons that were supposed to be good turned out to be good.
Its not niantics fault melmetal is bad, if it doesnt learn any steel type fast moves that are currently in the game, and even if they were to add his signature move, which would most likely be charged, it wouldnt be enough to make him good.

I disagree with that "90% that were supposed to be good" statement. Earthquake is horribly implemented and it makes ground-type DPS a lackluster option.

There are examples of good mons with bad movesets and while I agree that not everything should be good, there should be viable options for all types. Some pokémon become less interesting to me because of the move options they have.

If everything was an improvement on what we had, people would complain that their investments were made redundant, and that at Niantic are catering to casuals and newbies.

If nothing is an improvement, people make threads like these and threads about everything just being dex entries.

Some people (you know the type 😂) have to complain about anything...so Niantic ignore them and look for a balance between the extremes.

Damned if they do, and damned if they don't

Edit - the truly disturbing trend is kids that feel they have to find something negative about anything and everything so they can rant and complain like a spoiled entitled child.

Ded thread posting ftw.

I'm just coming here to say that Melmetal's moves suck because they only have the Let's Go games to base it off of, and Let's Go's attackdex is atrocious. It will likely have much more main series attacks in the 2019 game which means potential access to much better attacks.
