Delevelling pokemons to fit lower leagues

How many of us have pokemons around the 2.6k, 2.7k CP range that are useless for Master League and don't qualify for Great League?

How many of us have to have duplicate mons for different leagues? For example I have to duplicate a low level SD Tyranitar and a low level Metagross just so I can use them

Unless this is some way by Niantic to lock legendaries out of lower leagues (fine by me, just need to add that to the rules). I really hope that the game will allow us to delevel our mons to have them qualify for lower leagues

For example, if you want to use a level 40 Mewtwo for Ultra, the game will simulate a drop in levels till the mon is below 2.5k CP for the duration of the battle

And if you want to say that Mewtwo vs Azumarril for Great League is IMBA, I just want to say that your pokemon's CP and stats are coorelated so these 2 mons will actually be close performance wise

Thoughts?

There's no real need. In the lower cp leagues generally Pokemon with lower maximum cp perform better than those that have a high max cp. I like the fact it makes many more Pokemon relevant rather than just having a few useful Pokemon and 90% dex fillers

I agree with there being no need, but in my experience (I battled with a friend quite a few times), CP does matter in the great league as pokemon in the 1200s don't seem to be able to put up much of a fight against those in the 1400s. Whereas in the Ultra league, pokmemon in the 2000s put up a decent fight against those in the 2400s. Just my observation. (I haven't been able to fight in the master league).

We've been ignoring CP for ages due to the raid and gym dynamics, and now it's really funny how PvP puts it as a very compelling benchmark. Of course, moves features are still king (especially now that for PvP and gym/raids their performance different), but similar good moves make PvP fights really tight on equal CP caps.

I think it's fine as it is, specially in great league when you can see almost any mon in a fighting party.
Variety is great in a game where optimal counters have made raiding kind of stale lately

As much as I love it, I started to get tired of using only Gengar lately. The Gengar / Ttar / SB Mewtwo combo has been ruling my battles way too long, so I'm really happy to use the other undervalued mons like low level Blastoise, Flygon and the like for PvP.

If you're only playing with Ttar and Metagross, your battles must be boring as hell.

It's almost like the caps were put in place so Pokemon besides Tyranitar and Metagross would get used.

I actually got a 98% MM Metagross at L13.5 with 1459CP that performs like rubbish in the Great League. I thought it would rock, but it sucks so badly compared to normal, higher level mons that naturally fall within the 1500CP cap.
