Time to hold off any power up.

Edit: if you're a 666 CP collector, brace yourself to lose your collection.

Bittersweet about losing them as well as my extensive 420 mons, including a shiny Larvitar :(

On the plus side, more box space once I transfer them.

Haha joke's on you Niantic, I screenshotted my 666 collection months ago and sent them to the professor's ranch where they'll stay as they are forever. You can't hurt me.

WHAT IS A HORRER?

More seriously, glad I planned to hoard 2M dust for Gen 4, despite feeling that was too much. The day before Machamp was removed from the raid rotation, I earned a perfect one from a solo, but have yet to touch it (already maxed three).

A HORRER (always in all caps) is a person who can't spell well, jumps to conclusions from limited or no evidence, complains that whatever minor change happens to the game is like rape or murder, or someone who starts all their posts with "Dear Niantic".

Perhaps you've met one or two here, ....

It's been mentioned it's potentially preparation for a level cap increase. I personally think the defensive shuffling is preparation for PvP.

I don't think level cap is a priority. Agree, PvP has to be!
After all they announced it was coming at the end of the year and everyone is aware that the current battle system didn't meet the requirements for PvP. They stress "...narrow the gap between Pokémon with the highest defensive stats and other Pokémon". It makes sense to favor variability and a richer PvP meta (initially rich, then it will evolve to everybody uses the same, xD).

They announced they were hoping/planning on it by year's end, not definitively releasing. It's already mid-October and they're only releasing some gameplay balances in prep for it by early November, based on their timeline in the announcement.

The gist of the post makes it sound like they are nerfing high Stamina a little, and buffing high Defense, while lowering the Defense of many pokemon (so maybe nerfing non-high defense pokemon). I expect that there should be very small to no shifts for most balanced pokemon.

On the other hand, FEAR SHUCKLE!!! BWAHAHA.

Seriously, this could be prepping for raising the level cap, and/or prepping for PvP. Both were promised before the end of the calendar year. We'll see.

Nevermind Shuckle, I can't wait to see if this makes the Regis viable in any meaningful way. The asshurt from people who sat on them/skipped them over the summer will be immeasurable.

Yep, they might be PVP monsters. Fortunately I got a 98 Regice and Regirock, and a 100% Registeel. Not enough volume for the last two, but some good quality.

I don't know about monsters per se but I do hope it sheds some utility on them. I have at least one > 90% IV of each of them, seems like a waste of good IVs to keep them benched forever.

I mean, are people supposed to speculate and save every single pokemon that has even a remote potential to be useful in the future if major changes happen? 1500 storage isn't enough for that, we'd need 15000.

I expect we'll either get a free storage bump, or a sale on increasing storage, and a raised storage cap to 2000, when Gen 4 pops. Ready to pony up the coins? Much harder for F2P players than the ones who will happily drop $20 to raise their storage instantly to the max.

They'll probably give away the first 50 spots for free again, with the rest being buyable. I haven't bought coins since spring but I've made sure not to dip below 2000 because I know I want the next storage upgrade right away when it hits the store.

I have a feeling my 6 maxed Gengar wont even manage to get out a Shadow Ball after a confusion by Mewtwo lmao.

Well, after the level cap goes up, at least they won't be maxed anymore, ....

If they rebalance HP by adding a static value to it like in the main series (one of the most glaring flaws of Pogo's stat conversion so far), Gengar will become more tanky than it used to be.

Love it, make preparing the squad interesting again

Just maximize stardust as much as possible, don’t power up anything for now. Time to prepare to build counter team based on whatever Pokémon’s you have now for upcoming ghost legendary boss.
