Is this a bug? Rayquaza impossible to capture

I've lost 6 rayquazas in a row since the windy egg event and for whatever reason, from some point on no matter what berry i use, no matter how many premier balls i have, no matter how many greats or excellents i throw, i can no longer catch it at all, it simply does not, and i mean does not stay in the ball. Is this a bug that prevents various accounts from catching some types of pokemon or they actually reduced the catch rates?

Sounds like some really bad RNG unless maybe your account was somehow softbanned. I did a couple raids today, and while some were not successful in catching, others were. Having six run in a row is unlikely if you were using GR and hitting excellent curves on every throw, but it's still well within the realm of possibility given that each of those throws has ~15% to successfully catch. Run of bad luck. Nothing more.

Probably karma because you're an anus. Such intense feelings of schadenfreude right now. What a Monday this is turning out to be!

In his defense though he is becoming less of an anus these days. Give him time.

Fought 8 rayquaza today, only caught 3, but those are normal RNGesus results. You just had bad luck, no need to be so loud about it.

It is only about number of balls, you tried other gyms or full groups. Don't change berries(!) as you did and throw excellent-curve, see https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/raidcalc#/
Ray is easy 80% and I only haven't caught few low IVs when trying pinaps (same number I caught on pinaps;)

Not as bad as the issue I have on a regular basis, where I simply can't hit Rayquaza. It doesn't matter how far I throw, how hard I throw, if I curve it or throw it straight, every single throw falls short. Normally this happens 2-4 times per Rayquaza raid (not counting mis-throws on my part - I'm talking about throws that SHOULD reach, but for no apparent reason don't reach; after catching 23,000 Pokémon, I'm pretty sure I know when a ball is thrown well enough to reach a distant Pokémon.), but I had one Rayquaza raid where I had 8 balls and all 8 fell short. None were batted away - every one fell short, landing below Rayquaza.

I know that correlation isn't causation, but damn I wish I hadn't gotten the Gold Dragon badge; my catch rate for Rayquaza was about 75% when I had the Bronze Badge. With the Gold Badge, I'm at 10-12.5%. I caught my first Rayquaza since the Dratini Community Day yesterday, and I've done 8-10 raids or so in that time.

It's really hard not to blame the Gold Badge for my insane RNG with Rayquaza lately.

Don't know, but the same thing happened to me with Kyogre. After catching 2 out of my first 4 I could not get another one for the longest time (had more luck when he supposedly harder to catch). Finally did catch another, but ended up with a dismal 3 out of 15 raids.

Did much better with Groudon, 11 out of 19. Unfortunately, due to RL interference I've only done 5 Rayquaza raids so far ... but caught 2.

I wonder if it's just real bad RNG. My technique doesn't change much.... GR, usually great curve ball (rarely get excellent).

Hope your luck turns (and mine.... I want more Rayquaza!)
