Now it is the time of pros and cons!
Golem's RT/SE's pros:
Has a solid moveset typing.
Decent against Charizard.
Great for dodgers.
Also counters Dragonite.
Golem's RT/Earthquake's pros:
Good against pure fire and poison Pokémon.
Has a great type coverage, making it usable in many ways like Tyrantiar.
Golem's cons on both movesets:
A slightly weaker version of Rhydon, in most cases.
Having 2 double weaknesses making it struggles against many common defenders like Vaporeon and Exeggutor.
Soft-countered by Rhydon if with rock moves.
In the Tyrantiar case, however, Rhydon with Earthquake + anything is better than Golem with Rock Throw + Earthquake.
Now, we look at the DPS difference between RT/SE and RT/Earthquake:
RT/SE: about 25.193 DPS over 106.1 seconds
RT/Earthquake: about 24.844 DPS over 115.2 seconds
Total damage output over the battle duration, 99.3 seconds:
RT/SE: 2449 Damage
RT/Earthquake: 2360 Damage
DPS with Dodge, for how it is calculated, check the week 1-2 post:
RT/SE: about 23.452 DPS over 16.8 seconds
RT/Earthquake: about 23.260 DPS over 18.1 seconds
Next post, is still Golem!
