The "big 19" basic explanation – Flareon (week 1-3) – Pros and Cons

Since Flareon is a decent attacker now, there are some pros and cons need to be mentioned.

Pros:
Puts a ton of STAB super effective damage into the 4 big grasses.
Having more HP than most glass cannons.
Resisting Blissey's Dazzling Gleam makes Flareon a viable attacker against her.

Cons:
Still a medium-low base STA.
Its quick moves are pretty good for inefficent dodging.
Will likely get killed if not dodging the opponent's charge move.
Countered by many common defenders like Vaporeon and Gyarados.

There are still more things need to be mentioned.

Both Pokémon are at the same level and with 10/10/10 IV:
When against Tyrantiar:
FS + Overheat: 12.200 cycle DPS over 15.0 seconds.
Ember + Overheat: 10.929 cycle DPS over 14.0 seconds.
Fire is not very effective into Rock, so they will do less DPS than usual.
When against Blissey:
FS + Overheat: 13.867 cycle DPS over 15.0 seconds.
Ember + Overheat: 12.174 cycle DPS over 14.0 seconds.
Blissey is pretty tanky, the moveset that does the most DPS against her is optimal, dodging her quick moves isn't necessary if the moveset has a quite low DPS.
