Best Flareon Moveset

I really dont understand why the best Flareon attack moveset is FireSpin / Overheat instead of FireSpin / Flamethrower.
We can use 2 times Flamethrower instead of a single Overheat and do more damage.

The idea is same as Jolteon.
Thunderbolt charge move is considered better than Thunder charge move.

Flamethrower does 70 damage.
70 + 70 = 140
Overheat = 160 damage

Also, you would take 4.40 seconds to launch both Flamethrowers, while only 4 seconds to launch Overheat.

So, more damage per energy and also more damage per second for Overheat.

Overheat is a much stronger move, but Flamethrower is indeed strong too...so if you prefer the 2 bar charge moves then use that.
Sometimes you will get the kill with 3 Flamethrower, and so it could be handy depending on how/what you want from it.

For attacking, use what is better for you, not what is top of a list. Use the list as a guide, but personalise it to suit your own style.

Electric Wise:
Thunder 100 Power 2.4 Seconds
Thunder Bolt 80 Power 2.5 Seconds
So yes, 2 Thunder Bolts are better than 1 Thunder.
The Electric Pokemon can't spend the extra 2.6 seconds to make up for 60 damage (80+80 >100)

But Fire Wise
Flamethrower 70 damage 2.2 seconds
Overheat 160 damage 4.0 seconds

So 2 Flamethrowers take longer than OH and do less damage.

That said, I almost never use a fire pokemon in a gym for more than 1 pokemon. So realistically If I am looking at a 1 firepokemon vs 1 defender situation
Then it's about a 50%/50% chance on which move is better.

50%/50% is basically the odds that in combat that I get 3 Flamethrowers off, and temporary I'm ahead of 1 Overheat.

If you plan on even starting the next fight though with the Fire Pokemon, and keeping it in long enough to get off that second overheat. 2 OH wins

Exactly
Fo is better, but Flamethrower is viable and may be preferable at times, or for some people....whatever suits what you want, or how you want to use it.

The best thing about the moveset change is that we now are able to make viable choices, depending on need and even preferred style.

EDIT ...but mentioning electric I think discharge is underrated by many except the GP list. It is always available, and gives more damage per 100 energy than the other 2, although it takes longer to deliver.

All that was posted above...

Also as mentioned, saving the charge move like an Overheat or Solar Beam will make the next Blissey fight a bit easier to avoid timeout...

I usually do that with an eggs and mix spam Confusion/Solar Beam and clean up with Machamp.
