Are tier 3 solo challenges even worth doing any more?

Yesterday, I beat a Psyshock Jynx with 50 seconds to spare, using only two level 30 Tyranitars and a level 30 Flareon. Before the defensive rebalance, a Jynx solo would require all six attackers, finishing with less than 20 seconds to spare (and losing was a real possibility).

Finding legendary raids and enough players is easy in Singapore, especially with SGPokeMap back up. The rewards for tier 3 solos pale in comparison. With tier 3 solo challenges no longer challenging, are they still worth doing?

Yea solo challenges tier 3 are worthless now unless you just want to use the pass, people will no longer be impressed by them. Tier 4 solos are the only real challenges now (Absol, Tyranitar). I suppose tier 5 duos can be challenging too but definitely not heatran.

Tier 3 solos were never worth doing unless:
- you wanted the Pokemon
- you had a free pass to burn and no better option
- or you wanted to see if you could do it

The first two points remain. The third no longer does: the answer is always yes, you can do it (unless it's shuckle).

Like someone said in a earlier comment: It depends if you need the raid boss itself. I suggest you chase Shiny Alolan Raichu (It's worth to have it), also 100% Machamp. The other ones are up to you (Although, if you want a really good Mamoswine, go for the Piloswine Raid boss challenge; Plot twist: It's not a challenge at all).

I'd left my records for every Tier 3 Raid boss:

Raichu (SP/WC): 61 Seconds left.
Piloswine (PS/AL): 99 Seconds left.
Jynx (FB/AL): 78 Seconds left.
Machamp (BP/HS): 68 Seconds left.

No weather boost on any of those raids.

Piloswine was never a challenging T3 even before the effectiveness rebalance. Between that and having better, stronger counters available someone as low as level 20 should be able to take one. A fleet of level 15 MM Metagross can take it down without dodging if Bulldoze isn't a factor.

I did defeat Piloswine with 6 unique level 20 Pokemon before the type effective buffs. I expect it can be done when level 15 Pokemon now.

Shiny hunting Alolan Raichu is probably the most exciting thing T3 raids can bringme at the moment. Apart from those I'd be hunting 100% Machamps to max out for T4 solos. I have an army of upper 30's from boosted catches but with their shoddy IVs I don't feel comfortable sinking the dust needed to max them out. I would rather get 100%s from raids or luckies from trades and max those out even if at lower levels. I feel you though, I remember the excitement of my first T3 solo. It's kind of weird knowing I can handle any of them now with no effort or prior preparation.

Research task battle gym 5 times...have maxed 100 and maxed 15/14/15, both boosted Machamp raids...this one will take a long while though.

When you get 6 rare candy you feel they've been worth doing. When you get mainly potions you kick yourself for wasting time. None of the current lv3s are challenging for most higher level players, but for a lot of getting enough players for a tier 5 can be a problem once the raid boss has been out for a while, so I'm glad tier 3s exist.

A bunch of level 20 Mewtwos can solo Machamp now.

Tier 3 solos are better if you struggle to get a group together or if you have limited time. In the time it takes for the last person (perpetually 5 minutes away) to arrive at a tier 5, you could theoretically complete 2 tier 3 raids. I see this as the biggest upside.
