GamePress

Is anyone starting to hate this game now?

# Scanners killed, cannot find rare pokemon, only purpose raid and farm dust
# Raiding incentive gone because of garbage REGIS
# Origin Pulse and Precpice Blades about to appear on community day Groudons and Kyogres and will null all your 1m dust and 1k candies spent beforehand (Only incentive farming stardust and candies gone for good)

Umm i think it's game over for me if this is true. I cannot get any less excited and more resentful now. Thanks for driving more loyal customers away. Never i spend a cent on legendaries from this point on. Absolute creative destruction at its finest.

No Pokemon is supposed to be top of the meta forever. You max out a Pokemon because it's good against current gyms and current raids. The whole point of the game is to catch new Pokemon, not rely on a great one you got ages ago forever. Your Groudon and Kyogre aren't null if you got months of use out of them.

This is a little something different from what you said. I do think most of the players here are already making choice in accordance with gamepress's analysis. The choice of making likely is in consideration of the by generations of different kinds. It's more concerning about Nanitic has quite strong a will to wash away the value of the old's towards the same pkm. I think the frustration is more stated at this one. This is more than what you try to mean, though I comprehend your kindness which tries to sooth players here who get hurt

1) I like the fact that the scanners are down and remain down. It's much more exiting to encounter a rare mon. Scanners took the rare completly of the mons and now the value of these mons is back.

2) Just raid the other bosses. You aren't limited to tier 5 only. Most of the bosses are able to solo. So you don't need to wait for other players and can raid at any time you want.

3) Yes. I don't like this decision. Just make these three hour moves TM able and all the raid passes, dust and candies from the past are not wasted.
The way it is now involves just luck. You have to be out during the three hours, encounter a good one and catch it. There is just not enouth time.

1) I mostly agree but I think they’re currently necessary because the Nearby is inadequate. They should figure out how to “hide PokéStops” on the NEARBY so I can see the invisible Pokémon in say my neighbors yards... (NIANTIC DO NOT GIVE ME ANY OF THAT “it’s called Pokémon ***GO***” NONSENSE.) I think it’s fair for them to figure out how to add a “hide PokéStops” option or at least change the name of the screen. People are going to abuse the privilege with scanners but let them. They’ll probably be really happy.
2) UHgreed. maybe get you uh perfect. maybe get you uh shiny. maybe get you uh RC or CTM or wertever. ETC
3) Yeah, they want your money.💯

1) Never used scanners. Get off your arse & go look. 2) Tier 5 raids give out the same rewards, regardless of the boss, time to stock up on RC 's for the next useful Mon. 3) Would you rather, going forward, a new catch to have better or worse moves than the ones you already have? Doesn't mean the ones u've maxed out already suddenly become useless.

You're kind of whining about something that isnt an issue, if the regi's are garbage, then smply dont raid them, the lower level raids are always good, its just been before the tier 5 was also good so it took priority, having the regi's actually gives players the chanse to go for the lower level raids they normally wouldn't go for, or in the case of Kirlia, WEREN'T THERE BEFORE

When and where was it stated that origin pulse and precispise blades were going to appear? Aeroblast isnt on lugia's moveset, so it doesnt seem likely that those signature moves will be added

The whole "waste of dust" argument is something I only half agree with, yes all of that spent dust and candy will be made obsolete if something better comes along and, this is the bigger part, when it is powered up, but thats just the thing, IF it comes (if prcicpise blades comes out, you arent going to have a maxed groudon with it, so your maxed earthquake one will still be better for a long time), and that also doesnt invalidate everything those powered up mon got you, i'd gladly spend dozens of rarecandy on something like a tyranitar because I couldnt find any raids and didnt have enough to power one up, if it gets me something like a rayquaza today, and then tomorrow theres a bunch of tyranitar raids, I wouldn't feel sore about it because had I not used them, I wouldn't have gotten something good.

The other thing to note is that a lot of the legendaries have other uses beyond their main STAB charge moveset.
Say Precipice Blades Groudon comes out and your 100% EQ one is now "obsolete" you can always TM it into Solar Beam and you now have an even stronger generalist. Rayquaza has a dual-use as the best Dragon and the best Flying, so if a temporary move outclasses it in one aspect, there's still the other. If Mewtwo gets Psystrike, your previous high IV ones still have a reliable use with Shadow Ball or even Focus Blast.

I'm willing to give Niantic the benefit of the doubt and assume they're going to handle these moves the same way the handle the Community Day moves - nothing totally overpowering that shatters the meta, just little changes that being a previously 2nd-tier Pokemon into usability (Venosaur with Frenzy Plant, TS Zapdos) or add versatility to a strong Pokemon without obsoleting ones unable to get the move (Smack Down Tyranitar)

Wouldn't mind gymhuntr coming back for raid scanning but Pokemon scanners aren't healthy for the game. The point of rare Pokemon is that you don't encounter them often, which wasn't the case with scanners.

Raiding incentive is only gone currently because the Regis suck and don't have a shiny version, but the Articuno and Zapdos day, tons of people I know were active and we did around 20 raids within that 3 hour window which kind of makes up for the lack of passes bought for the regis, and we're just normal players, I know some of the more active players that did 30+.

Having a Pokemon that is best of it's type forever isn't good, especially if it was limited time one. What about players who weren't around for Smack Down Tyranitar or Kyogre? Are they just supposed to be at a permanent disadvantage because they weren't playing the game at a certain time?

Now people can spend their dust and enjoy the game as it is currently instead of bringing underlevelled Pokemon to raids, worrying about hoarding stardust for the next best Pokemon that might not even be added anytime soon.

I think small amounts of power creep are okay - e.g. limited time Pokemon that are slightly better than the previous best of types, so that those around are rewarded for it, but those who weren't, aren't put at too big of a disadvantage, because something better will come along.

If a Pokemon is going to be best of it's type and never to be rereleased, that would probably drive off some newer players, or people looking to return.

I haven't played the game seriously since the gym change and the addition of raids. I wont beat the same dead horse, but I will say I am currently most frustrated with the drop rate of rare candies and TMs. 2 level 3 raids in a row (about a week ago) did not give me a single rare candy. I'm also STILL trying to get my double rock Tyranitar but can't get CTMs.

Also, as a solo player, I have to rely on raids I can solo. If I can't get rare candy and TMs to make it worthwhile, there isn't a point in doing them. Finally, raids are very random. When I have had free time I will drive around my town to see if there are any raids. On more days than not, out of around 20 gyms, there isn't a single raid, or they are T4 or T5. It would be cool to power up my Mewtwo, but if I feel like I'm only going to get 1 candy per raid, it's not even worth it. If they gave 5 rare candies per raid, I would probably spend a lot of money on raids. That seems like an obvious thing to do as it would result in a lot more money on their end. The game is already "pay to win," so let me pay.

Scanners are no good for the game. Go out there and look. Rare Pokémon are supposed to be rare. Not omg there is one a mile away I have to go drive to it and get it. Using scanners is like spoofing. Play the game they way it’s supposed to be played.

I like not having a good tier 5 raid boss. You can Raid 1-4 raids at your own pace, and even tier 4s give out the same rewards as tier 5. Plus you can now get a good Gardevoir, or save for a Gallade. And go get some of the new Alolan Mons.

The third I kinda agree with. It gives you a reason to raid them again, However you should be able to TM one or two of you current ones. My guess is that in the future we will have some kind of move tutor that will teach CD moves, or legacy moves. This will be something exciting that will keep people in the game and bring others back.

They have said they have plans for this game for the next 20 years. I’m sure move tutor is one, mega evolutions, and many exciting things. The Meta is meant to change. Be excited that the game is always changing!

Well, on the brighter side, did 7 Zapdos raids with my level 40...pinapped all of them, caught 6. Three of them were shiny, 1846 first one; 1876 second shiny, last raid before went home: 1895 shiny 14a/15/15

Disregarding stardust, they did give us double candy and somewhat easy to catch Zapdos to make one of the new level 20s viable

This guy seems like the legacy players who got butthurt over body slam snorlax; complaining about the game actually becoming better

The pretty sure the OP posted once like 35 level 40 100% eevees, something about doing wheelies on a motorcycle while poaching perfects

My mistake, but that could make driving around looking for 100s fun.

I did try to trade myself a 632cp treecko yesterday...then I saw 632cp was already the max. Checked the other 1 and it caught it, too. I seem to have a noticeable number of 100s spawning in my living room. 100 Slowpoke, 100 level 32 rat, now this treecko in the past 5 so weeks.

I don't hate it but it still baffles me that they refuse to make raiding more accessible

Yes, The TM issue is what pushed me to the edge and I'm just done. I did 3 Registeel and wont' do any more because TMS are worthless, I'm lvl 40 so I don't need the xp and T3 Solo raids hail the same amount of Rare Candy.

Sad to see you leave. On the plus side you no longer have to come here to complain and that will make you and everyone else happier.

Yeah the Zapdos exclusive move is the last straw, i will probably just play f2p to hang out with friends but I’m going casual.

No, i dont hate it

# like it, let them die forever, to many trainersjust focusing on hundo catching, dont wanna powerup if its not perfect, resulting in people hesitant to raid a T5 even with 6-7 trainers. And i am not talking about a casual player, it is a trainer who played everyday, raid a lot, lv 37 to 40. I like Gymhuntr, but if it has to go also, so be it

# Then used a free raid pass, if you want, try to solo T3, or just looking for a RC or TM
I do like it now, as i consider it as a holiday season, taking a break from raid, get some Regis, and play at relax pace. Some good legendaries will come

# I power up because i need it, not because something gonna happen in the future.
I maxed out my mediocre Mewtwo because i can use it as a warranty to solo Alakazam when i try to battle it with unique challenge and i failed 2-3 times, time running out so i use my Mewtwo PC/SB. Save my raid pass
Same with Kyogre, i wanna beat Claydol, so i maxed it out..
I cant rely on other player as i only can play with group at weekend, so i must have strong team to solo raid.

I miss nest farming and running for rares. Without scanners, there is far less incentive to play on foot. Stardust farming and egg hatching are done more efficiently on public bus rides.

As for raids, the gap between town centres and relatively less populated areas (such as industrial estates) has widened ever since the scanners went down. The Regis are still worth raiding for RC and TMs, but I often end up wasting my daily free pass on an Omanyte or Wailmer because the good raids are invisible to me.

I just hate the spoofers. They’re what will eventually make me leave the game. Just as they announced the move against spoofers, they lift the previous sooofer ban and they are all back taking gyms

Your Groudon and Kyogre aren't null, without the exclusive moves they are still better than everything else. Unless you're hardcore enough to be able to power up 6 of both

1. Scanners were never an official part of the game, you just want an easy out for finding something rare.

2. Yeah the Regis blow, but it was inevitable - they had to come out somehow, and being legendaries they all get a crack at being a T5 raid boss. Besides, the other tiers actually have sweet lineups for a change, go do them.

3. "About" is definitely a strong word seeing as there's nothing remotely official about their return. Spending 1 million/1k candies on any one species of Pokemon is a risky fucking gambit regardless of who the Pokemon in question is. Having said that, legendary Pokemon having exclusive moves in a 3 hour window is a really bad precedent to set. They should at least be TM'able, people will still do the raids regardless for shiny chances. I think there's been enough kick-back about the exclusivity of Zapdos's Thundershock that Niantic may reconsider for future legendary runs.

Your point #3 is so valid it hurts!

We could spend thousands on stardust and candy to max out a pokemon only for it to be redundant when Com Day moves come out.

Niantic need to sort this as it's killing the game.
