I've definitely noticed it too. This combined with that image posted to the official pokemon go Twitter and the upcoming dual community day with Eevee (which some are speculating will allow evolution to Leafeon on one day and Glaceon on another) makes me think that they're trying to tell us that gen 4 is coming soon.
Anyone notice the boost in gen IV pre-evolutions?
I've been finding pokemon that god evolutions in gen IV like nuts, for the past month I haven't found a single swinub, magmar, and other such pokemon in the wild, now, they're everywhere, and no, this isnt nests, is it just luck, or anyone else seeing this?
I men just yesterday I found 2 ralts and a kirlia nonweather boosted

Hey MM,
All other CDs have allowed pre-CD catches to evolve to selected move set so we should assume this one will be same. I have heard many say that Leafeon and Glaceon are not that powerful relative to others in their class so i think this would only match the hype if each gets a new kick @ss move. I like Eevee so even if Leafee and Glacee underwhelm it will be fun to catch a ton of them. We probably can all use more Espeons for those leftover after the event.
Ok, but other than countering machamp, what are espeon good for? Gen IV's got a lot of psychic type legendaries and giratina,
As well as the description specifically stated that "eevee captured
" during the event time would have a specific move, not evolve to get a specific move
Glaceon if given even passable moves will be better than articuno
(most gen IV ice types will also do this) the only real letdown may be leafeon because FP venasaur the grass type king. If only eevee gets the move, the value of the CD gamewise will only be for EXP or stardust
I get the thing about it being fun to catch them, but in the cases of the other CD's those were rare pokemon, eevee's extremely common, I find maybe 20 a day even in nonpartly cloudy weather
Gen 4 has one good psychic legendary, Azelf. The others have low attack stats. But that's besides the point. The point is you are unlikely to have the candy required for powering all the legendaries you get, regardless of how much better than the non-legendaries they are. That gives top tier non-legendaries like Espeon a lot of worth.
The point of Eevee day is pretty simple, it's the shiny hunt for one of the most loved and iconic evolutionary families in the entire franchise.
