Any use for Magnezone in the Gen 4 meta?

I checked the Safest Bets for Gen 4 article, and a chart says Magnezone doesn't surpass Raikou in both DPS and TDO.

He's useful in that we just had an event to stock up on Magnemite candy and he is therefore cheaper than Raikou.

So...that means Raikou is still better?

Mirror shot's been added to the game's code, it might do well as a steel attacker.

As an electric attacker, Raikou will be better DPS wise, but as it seems more and more like raikou will become a bad rarecandy investment if one hasn't already powered one up, Magnazone will be better becuse it doesnt need RC. Most of raiko's best matches have been taken from it by the availability of other coutners to water and flying and with no flying legendaries until Tornadus in gen V, theres no reason to power up a legendary specialist when a nonlegendary does the same thing even if its a little less DPS, the RC are much better spent on better legendaries.

I find Raikou far more useful than Dragonite on gym offence. Bulk is what makes Raikou better than Venusaur for countering Water-type defenders. Raikou also deals neutral damage to Fairy-types that wall both Machamp and Dragonite.

I also use Raikou for gyms much more than any Dragon type. Raikou is a good gym battler for sure, but a good gym battler isn't really worth rare candy unless you have a lot of excess.

Same. Raikou gets scads more use on my gym-attacking team than Dragonite, which frankly gets very little use.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Actually I was only asking because I just got a lucky 98IV Magneton at L34 and wondering if it could be a good Electric or Steel attacker in Gen 4. Time to save some Magnemite candies now. :)
