Alolan forms- could Gen 7 debut before Gen 4?

Releasing Gen 7 next would make sense as it is the most current release of the main series. People are used to the Pokemon (which are superior to Gen 4) from the game and in marketing.

No it wouldn't, and not it doesn't.
If you're going to make such outlandish claims, you really need work on explaining why, "people used to Pokemon" means almost nothing.

I for one cannot name a single Gen 7 pokémon because I played the card game with first Gen and Gold on GBC. There were a few years between playing the two games.

Everything after Gen 2 was unknown to me and I only learn about the next generation once the previous generation is released in Go.

I assume that is the case for many players. They quit somewhere in between and start out with another pokémon game later on.

I don't think so. I think that niantic was forced/rushed into it by the ptc as cross promotion for pokomon live. The exegggutors looked to be just dumped in the game with little real preperation, so i wouldn't be expecting to much.

I disagree. I think the Alolan Eggys were put in the game to break up the monotony of the long Adventure 'week', and were also put in so that people would have another good counter for Kyogre. Tired of Kyogre with Hydro Pump going through 9 of your pokemon during a 10 player raid? Power up a few Alolan Eggys and you'll cut that number down a few because of double resistance to water (provided you don't face Blizzard, of course).

All in all, I think it fits well. And I wouldn't be surprised if another Alolan form comes out during Water week, something that's useful against something else coming up soon, like the Regis.

I highly doubt this would happen. The most we might see are the other Alolan forms being released ahead of schedule (since Go treats them as alternate forms of existing Mons rather than new Dex entries), but that's it. My guess would be that the rest, or all, of Gen 7 will be released after gens 4-6.

Why go out of sequence? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever

A, B, C should be followed by D...
If you say G...
Then there is something wrong with you...
Sorry no hard feelings but non-sense...
Peace....

I can see why someone would think that, but it is very clearly that gen 7 is officially over in the main series, the lets go games are a bit of an oddity, some kind of gen 7.5 thing halfway between 7 and 8, or just an other entitity altogether, but thats beside the point.

For more current players of the main series, then gen7's are more recognizable, that is true, and I do agree a lot of the gen 7's are better that gen4's (sans the creation trio and heatran) but GO isnt run by the pokemon company, its run by Niantic, and a big point of GO seems to be reminding players of the older pokemon to bring BACK older players who drifted off, they already have then gen7 fans playing, they wouldn't need to bring them back because they are already there.

The Alolan thing was just to celebrate the Switch game announcement, which will only be Gen 1 + Alolan forms.
And maybe to celebrate impending summer.

Though I do hope they break sequence and start rolling out Megas early

Personally I think Gen 4 has probably the most potential meta relevant Pokémon of all of he gens. Gen 7 has some good ones for sure but releasing it before Gen 4 is dumb honestly. Also I’m planning on fighting hard or get my 90+% Infernape and I’m maxing that sucker out as much as I can because he’s my favorite. Also Azelf is cool

Alolan pokemon were only versions of gen 1 pokemon. It was a quick-win for Niantic to introduce something new with low effort, without needing to do a full release of a new generation.

As mentioned that newer generations are strong - you can't release them first. If you did, then no one would want the "older" stuff when it came out. Going in order is the only thing that makes sense. A few unique pokemon out of order is okay, because realistically they're the same pokemon from gen 1. If Gen 7 had been live before PoGo started, they probably would have released those pokemon before gen 2.
