2nd Charge Move Useable in Gum/Raid Battles?

So I know that if you "purchase" a second charge move it is useable in PvP battles, but can you use it in Gyms or Raid Battles? I have a 98% Mamoswine and it has Buldoze for a charge move. With the Rayquaza raids coming up, I am trying to decide if it is better to use my only Charge TM, or purchase the second slot. Obviously if the second move is only used in PvP I will use the TM, but if it can be used any time I think I will just buy the additional move. What do y'all think?

Yep. Second move can be used in raids, gyms, and pvp. Mamoswine is currently the best ice type in the game, and (might have to verify this with the dps/tdo calculator on site) the best non legendary ground type not including garchomp (unreleased). So having both avalanche and bulldoze may be useful by switching through powder snow/mud slap with fast tms for different raids. Ultimately up to you and what your team needs.

Awesome. So if I have exactly 50 candy, should I save up for another Mamoswine and TM this one? Or use the candy on making this one the best?

It depends on how patient you are. In the short term (raiding Rayquaza in a week), giving it a second move in combination with your one charge tm will guarantee a mamoswine with avalanche (if you get stone edge, using the charge tm will give it avalanche, as his charge pool has only 3 moves). In the long term, it may be better to amass an army of Mamoswines for future raids. Though outside of raid bosses with a double ice/ground weakness (or even just electric raid bosses), I feel Mamoswine loses its appeal. He can certainly fill spots in your other raid teams where the boss has a single weakness to ice; he's definitely a good pokemon and you can see where he lies on the dps charts compared to other choices.

Depends where you want to youse youre Mamo for. PVP, Raids or both. It's the best counter against Rayquaza. If you play raids with enough players it doesn't matter much if you have good counters or not.

If you only have 1 charge TM, don't forget that you could end up with stone edge and be screwed. I have 2 Mammos with stone edge waiting for new charge TMs and that sucks :D so if you're comfortable spending the dust and candies, yeah buying a second move is safer.

If you have the Candies and Stardust, it is better to buy a Second move. RNG is ... not kind when it comes to using CTM's for me (I still have two 98% Machamp's with Close Combat because I just gave up trying to TM them to Dynamic Punch. Heavy Slam/Close Combat/Heavy Slam/reboot device/Close Combat/Heavy Slam/DRINK!!! is how it went for both. Then I spent 100,000 Stardust and 100 Candies and got... Rock Slide for BOTH.)

With only Stone Edge and Avalanche left to get, you've got a 50% chance of getting the one you want, and if you don't, then the CTM SHOULD get it for you as I believe Ancient Power is "Legacy" and not available by TM's. (Don't quote me on that because with my luck, Niantic will have a glitch where Ancient Power is unintentionally available via CTM for the second move and you'll end up with Bulldoze/Ancient Power.)
