PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Smack Down is a superior fast move to Iron Tail.
  • Stone Edge is a good pair for Smack Down.
  • Flamethrower and Flash Cannon don't serve a purpose.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Smack Down is very powerful on defense.
  • Flamethrower might get one use before Bastiodon gets punched to death.
  • Flash Cannon and Stone Edge are bad.

PVE Overview

Bastiodon is a "tank" with no firepower. Beldum has a higher attack stat than Bastiodon. And as a defender, it has a double weakness to Machamp. Don't use Bastiodon.

PvP Moveset Explanation

Smack Down + Stone Edge and Flamethrower

Smack Down lives up to its name. This heavy hitting fast move, 4.00 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 2.66 EPT (Energy Per Turn), will slay those pesky flyers like Altaria, while also covering Fire, Bug, Flying and Ice type Pokemon! Flamethrower, 90 Damage and 55 Energy Cost, is a solid choice when it comes to charge moves. With decently low energy cost and high damage, Flamethrower can put a dent into the enemy who are neutral to its typing and decimate Bug, Steel, Grass and Ice type Pokemon! Finally Stone Edge is just fantastic, 100 Damage and 55 Energy Cost. It will just wreck anything that doesn’t resist it. This move-set is the most optimal when it comes to performance in the Great League, according to PvPoke.com.

Smack Down + Stone Edge and Flash Cannon

Similar to the other move-set, we go for that heavy hitting fast move of Smack Down, 4.00 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 2.66 EPT (Energy Per Turn). Pairing that with Stone Edge, 100 Damage and 55 Energy Cost, is a solid core to Bastiodon’s move pool for the Great League. However we have a twist, Flash Cannon. While not as optimal as Flamethrower, Flash Cannon brings a different approach in coverage. With 110 Damage and 65 Energy Cost, Flash Cannon will do super effect damage to Rock, Fairy and Ice type Pokemon. This move-set is still decent, but not optimal for the Great League in general.

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League:  5 / 5

Bastiodon is a wall. A terror for Altaria if it gets trapped and laughs at pretty much anything besides fighting and ground moves. Bastiodon first and foremost is a huge stardust investment, but well worth it once completed. Ranked 2nd on PvPoke.com, Bastiodon is a top tier tank when it comes to the Great League! Aim to get yourself one someday as he will be around to Smack Down your opponents!

Ultra League:  0 / 5

Maxes out in the Great League, best keep it there.

Master League:  0 / 5

No hope in sight for the Master League.
