PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Peck and Sky Attack make for Fearow's best offensive moveset. Everything else can be ignored.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Peck is effectively Fearow's strongest fast move thanks to STAB, and it also has higher energy gains.
  • Steel Wing provides solid defensive damage and can punish Ice Types
  • Drill Run maims the majority of Rock, Electric, and Steel Types that would seek to prey on their advantageous matchups Vs. Flying Types
  • Aerial Ace comes out frequently and has STAB
  • Sky Attack is stronger but takes longer to charge up

PVE Overview

Fearow can operate as an early-game budget Flying Type attacker, but honestly it's just not worth investing any stardust in. Its performance is terribly lackluster, and it provides no niches. Even Pidgeot, the Route 1 beginner bird of beginner birds, can Mega Evolve to give it a niche that's worth dropping Stardust in. Unfortunately, Fearow is just plainly one of the worst Flying Types of Generation 1/Kanto.

PvP Moveset Explanation

Peck + Sky Attack and Drill Run

Fearow's Fast Moves are the primary reason for its lackluster performance. Peck benefits from STAB to outperform Steel Wing, but both are quite poor.

Sky Attack is actually quite strong with STAB, and is Fearow's main Charge Move with a moderate energy cost. Drill Run is valuable for its coverage, especially against Fearow's weaknesses to Electric and Rock Pokemon, as well as common Steel-types. Aerial Ace and Twister are poor moves.

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League: 1 / 5

Fearow's Charge Moves are highly desirable for Flying-type Pokemon, but this bird is ultimately held down due to its horrible Fast Moves and lack of bulk stats. Peck and Steel Wing both offer below average energy generation, meaning Fearow gets access to its strong Charge Moves more slowly. With a Pokemon this fragile, Fearow will most likely faint against most Pokemon before it can make any consistent impact.

Ultra League: 0 / 5

Fearow's max CP is 2257, which is insufficient for this league.

Master League: 0 / 5

Fearow? More like Zero.
