Offensive Moves Explanation
  • Thunder Shock is the better fast move, with lower cooldown and quicker energy gain despite having lower DPS than Volt Switch
  • Thunderbolt has slightly superior damage output when compared to Discharge, with Thunderbolt being easier to dodge with due to requiring less frequent use.
  • Thunder is far too weak for requiring a full bar of charge.
Defensive Moves Explanation
  • Volt Switch's raw per-hit power and energy gain is ideal for defense. Thunder Shock barely tickles attackers.
  • Discharge and Thunderbolt are once again comparable options. Discharge is more likely to be used more often before Jolteon bites the dust.
  • Thunder is the hardest of Jolteon's charge moves to dodge, but its damage output for a full bar of charge is pretty bad.

Rating Explanation:

Jolteon is currently the most meta-relevant non-legendary Electric-type Pokemon. Its high Atk stat and STAB on all of its available moves make Jolteon's damage output a force to be reckoned with. Jolteon is known as the Gyarados slayer, but it's also one of the best options to use for any defender or raid boss that is weak to Electric-type attacks.

On defense, Jolteon especially fears Ground-types, but it is not weak to much else. It also has access to one of the best defensive fast moves in Volt Switch. Jolteon is held back from being a good defender by its low HP, leaving it vulnerable to powerful generalists such as Dragonite.

Raid Boss Counters
SupremeOverall best counter always. Almost always top in DPS and very high in survivability. The Pokemon you want for the job.
GoodThe next best if you don’t have Supreme Pokemon.
TankWhen you’re down to your 5-6th Pokemon and need to hold the line and not suck while doing it. Tanks always have more survivability than Supreme, but less DPS than Good.
GlassMore DPS than Good with significantly less survivability. Note: Less DPS than Supreme.
