Overview

Onix is all bark but no bite. Like, the tree kind of bark, not the canine kind. Onix’s defense stat towers above all of its tier 3 compatriots, but it has 2 exploitable weaknesses to Water and Grass that make it a beatable. Few Pokemon are capable of soloing Onix, but thankfully, few Pokemon are required, as a stiff breeze hits harder than this rock snake.

Approach

Dodging strategy

  • Don’t, unless you’re using only Sharpedo; a baby hits harder than Onix

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
