Overview

Had this raid existed before November, it would have been very popular. Two Community Days worth of events have fulfilled much of the need for Beldum candy, and much of the allure of Metagross is gone without the possibility of receiving the stellar move Meteor Mash. That said, it still offers a shot at 20 candy, and a vast majority of the player base has never had a chance to actually catch a Metagross.

In a world where Tier 4s can be soloed, this raid offers quite the challenge… it’s much more akin to a Legendary raid or a throwback Tier 4. The unboosted duo is very difficult, primarily because of the required Moltres investment. However, weather boost makes it more achievable.

Approach

Team composition

  • Moltres is best and must make up a bulk of a duo team in neutral weather. Entei & Charizard make functional filler, but the margin is thin. Moltres is best.

  • Many more options become viable in the common Clear or elusive fog.

  • Occasionally you may need to re-enter, which is devastating in tier 4. A second team is recommended as max reviving is too slow

Dodging strategy

  • Dodging is helpful vs Psychic. In general, it is not as useful vs the other sets, as it slows you down too much.

  • Keep track of your energy. If you are close to a full bar, dodge. If you just fired your Overheat, it may be worth tanking to build towards your next charged move.

  • Be aware of the dodge glitch death loop when dodging
