Overview

Those expecting an easy time with Hitmonlee are in for a surprise. With his abysmal HP mitigated by tier 3’s constant 3000 HP, Hitmonlee becomes very bulky. His movesets are pretty straightforward, with almost all of them being Fighting moves. Stone Edge can be nasty for some of Hitmonlee’s counters. Overall, a fairly challenging boss, especially for those lacking in Mewtwo.

Approach

Team composition

  • The top Machamp counters are the most effective Hitmonlee counters

  • Common counters tend to be frail; legendary counters add bulk to team

Dodging strategy

  • Alakazam and Espeon should aim to use 2 Future Sight before fainting

  • Dodging is less necessary for teams with many Mewtwo and Rayquaza

  • If failing: attempt fewer dodges if timing out, more dodges if fainting out

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
