Overview

Giratina commemorates the debut of gen 4 in Pokemon GO alongside 26 common species. Though bulky, much of that is in the form of HP, which renders Altered Forme Giratina an easy raid. It doesn’t pack much power, either in its attack stat or its moves. Hardcore raiders with many Rayquaza or those blessed with frequent windy weather have the chance to duo this spooky spectre.

Approach

Team composition

  • Rayquaza is dominant; Dragonite, Salamence, Latios are great options

  • Tyranitar and Mewtwo aren’t weak to Dragon Claw, but can only do the trio

Battling strategy

  • Whether re-entry is needed depends on counters and Giratina’s moves

  • Dodging is minimally useful but can prevent re-entry vs. Shadow Sneak

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
