On April 23rd, 2018 Niantic updated the game to feature bonuses as indicated by an earlier announcement about Earth Day. These bonuses are live now. They include:
- Increased spawn rate of Water, Grass, and Ground-types
- 3x bonus Stardust for catching Water, Grass, and Ground-types
- Shiny Wailmer has been confirmed
An official announcement by Niantic has been made by the Pokemon GO Twitter account. The event ends on April 30th.
