Overview

Even in the main series Pokemon games, Deoxys defined the term 'glass cannon', with huge offensive stats and awful defenses. Its stats converted into GO exactly as predicted, and as a result, Deoxys is the easiest tier 5 boss to date. The hardest part of duoing Deoxys is relobbying, which is required for non-Psycho Boost sets.

Players not packing teams of Tyranitar need to watch out for Hyper Beam, which is lethal to most of Deoxys’s counters listed below. In partly cloudy weather, Hyper Beam even 1-hit KOs Banette despite being doubly resisted! Speaking of which, although they are viable glass cannons, we don’t advise using Banette, Absol, or Sharpedo in this raid due to how frail they are.

Approach

Team composition

  • Tyranitar and Mewtwo are excellent counters in terms of DPS and bulk

Battling strategy

  • Re-entry will be necessary except for Tyranitar teams vs. Psycho Boost

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
