bastieldon in great league

with bastieldon's stat spread and max cp my initial thoughts that it would be a top threat in the great league, would it be worth powering one up? or is it outclassed and weak

Numbers say it's amazing, the latest move rebalance just made it better with the buff to Smack Down. Highest neutral TDO in great league, hard counters Altaria and Cresselia, advantaged against Tropius, good against non-HP Azu, wins Umbreon, wins Munchlax, the list goes on.

Honestly it seems like a monster, but I don't know anyone who actually has one. I doubt anyone has been able to evolve, power up and unlock it without using rare candy yet. I found two before the current event started and wiped away most gen 4 spawns.

Its presence does make fighting moves much more relevant. I liked Vigoroth as a starter even before Body Slam got buffed and it should destroy Bastiodon pretty handily.

I personally used him and he can take hits extremely well. I have a 96% level 36.5 and he does the job. I didn't use him too much but from the fights that I used him he's doing really good.

Loses to flygon, VW meganium, blastoise, feraligatr, any mon with counter (Deoxys D)... but otherwise it's pretty solid.
Kinda hard to come by though, it's in a similar boat to azu, cresselia, double legacy magnemite/lapras... Granted most serious PvP'ers will get one eventually but... I don't see it warping the meta. The availability is too low and there are VERY easily attainable counters to it.

Flygon is the only hard counter of the ones you mentioned, Meganium and Blastoise take a lot of damage if they don't shield and so do counter users that aren't fighting types.

Azu and Altaria also have easily available counters, yet they have a big effect on the meta. Bastiodon in all honesty seems very similar. In the future you need to consider packing something for it so you don't lose to it, because it is strong.
