Dragon type HP Togepi

A 90IV togepi just hatched from a 2 km egg. Should I evolve it into a togekiss (when niantic release it) and use it as a dragon slayer with dragon type hidden power and dazzling gleam?

Does it have dragon type Hidden Power now? To my knowledge you can't reroll it to different types.

As for dragon slaying, it would make for a pretty bulky anchor. It doesn't have nearly the same levels of DPS other dragon types have though. In that sense it would be less slaying and more "holding the line" so to speak.

Yes, it has it now, that's why I want to know if is worth it to power it up.
It would resist dragon type moves and have better TDO, right?

Against DT/DM Palkia Togekiss with HP Dragon/DG has the highest TDO available. The key is this is exclusively against dual dragon movesets, as soon as Hydro Pump or Fire Blast comes into play that plummets.

Nothing guarantees that if Togepi has dragon HP, it still has dragon HP when evolved. Will be interesting to check though.

Does Hidden Power change upon evolution? I've never been bothered enough to check.

I have no Togetic and I don't know if there is another pokémon which knows HP and has an evolution that knows HP. So I don't know for sure. I recall a similar discussion happened here a few weeks ago but I don't remember when more exactly.

Just evolved two Togepi for science. One had HP Steel, the other had HP Dragon. After evolving, both of them ended up with HP Steel.

So there you have it, HP's typing rerolls after evolving.

Can verify; had a Togepi, TM'ed it to get HP, ended up with HP: Flying. Evolved it to Togetic, it got "Extrasensory". TM'ed to HP, got HP: Psychic.

(Yes, I have a LOT of FTM's.)

I truly thank you gentlemen for your investment of that many hard-earned Togepi candy in the name of science. The world knows a bit more now thanks to your dedication.

Never checked that neither, but I think the move type still the same since is the same pokemon.

No it gets random new skills on evolution. It doesn't keep same hp.

Could possibly be good in either cloudy or windy weather raids against dragons with a double dragon moveset, but ive heard that HPs type rerolls when evolving (dont know if thats true, haven't evolved my togepi because I dont want to waste candies if evo cost for togepi drops)

Could be a pokemon to use just for fun if you have 4-5 others against palkia with double dragon moves

Are you taking on any of the Togetic raids? In cloudy weather you could get a far better Togetic than an egg togepi. In two of my raids I've caught a 100% and 93%IV Togetic but it wasn't weather boosted so they were only lvl 20, in cloudy it is lvl 25. Catching a lvl 25 Togetic with decent IV saves you 78 candy and 31k of dust.

I'm in Toronto (loads of gyms) and yet I've still only seen a single togetic raid (and my gf wasn't with me at the time, so I couldn't even do it).

Maybe it's bad luck, but it seems pretty tough to find a togetic raid. Would love to do them, since it should be duoable for us (both have 8 MM Metagross, with at least 6 each over level 30, most over 35; and best friends).

That's a bummer, I'm lucky to live in an area that has good scanners and reporting on discord. Are you on Discord? There might be a decent Toronto channel that announces raids and Togetic raids are quite popular in the chats. One upside is that you are in Toronto so you get variable weather! I've been stuck on Sunny for the past three months it feels like.
