Lucky Pokemon in the Core Games

Yo! I currently own about 110 lucky Pokemon and kinda have a hard time not transfering some of them. So, what I want to know, is, if lucky Pokemon have a use in the core games Pokemon Go hasn't implemented yet or if there is any other potential reason to keep duplicates although being at minimum 1,4k/1,5k Storage Space (yep, I'm a collector..)

My only experience with the main games is with Sun/Moon and a little bit of Omega Ruby. So unless there's something in the older games I'm unaware of, Lucky Pokemon are something Niantic came up with specifically for PoGo.

I can't come up with a reason to keep them if you're not going to take advantage of the stardust savings and power them up. Maybe keep them if you like the bubbles?

Lucky pokemon are the equivalent of pokemon with pokerus in the main games, they gain bonus xp for a few days before they're "cured".

I had forgotten about the Pokerus virus, and I guess it’s sort of maybe analogous to Lucky in Go. But the virus increased EV gains (something not in Go) and was permanent on the infected mon. But it was contagious to other mon in your party for only a few days. I remember getting an infected mon through a trade and then infecting all of mine.

Pokerus affects EV (effort value) gains.

Lucky pokemon are comparable with just ordinary traded pokemon from another player, which receive 50% extra experience.

I've trashed about 30 luckies and will probably trash most of my currently owned 138 in preparation for the dust grind starting tomorrow. I don't think there's any value in keeping bad IV luckies that you don't intend to ever power up.

Yeah, I evolve them to mark each stage in the pokedex with the special background, then feel free to trash.

This exactly. For most species, unlocking the pokedex background is enough for me, after which the lucky mon needs to justify its existence in my storage somehow or to the professor it goes.
